Each scenario introduces new rules, objectives and complications, making every game totally unique!

PROBLEM SOLVING
Use the Ship Manual to navigate complex systems and resolve crises under pressure.
Decode symbols, follow processes, and apply solutions in real time — learning how the ship works as everything starts to fall apart!

LIFE ABOARD A DEEP SPACE FREIGHTER
Navigate the corridors of your very own spaceship - a Deep Space Freighter in service of The Company.
Modular board tiles allow for several combinations to let you and your crew have a unique game every time!
THE SHIP MANUAL IS THE GAME
At the heart of Evacuation Protocol is the Ship Manual

The Ship Manual is there to provide crew with guidelines for every part of ship life, from operating individual systems to each step of the emergency procedure.
To survive, crew must be able to interpret procedures under pressure, decode the unique visual language and co-ordinate with their crew without perfect knowledge.
Oxygen Generator offline? Better turn to Section 3.5! Door jammed in the Crew Lounge? You know it’s Section 6.3 that will have all the answers.
This is an entirely in-universe piece of material, designed to put you in your character’s shoes and try to work out what to do next.
One of the first things you will notice in the Ship Manual is the range of symbols that present a unique visual language that regular players will get to know.
The most important of these are the symbols that represent the codes that are required in order to complete a skill test. These symbols line up to the results of a standard D6, as shown here:

HOW IT PLAYS
No matter what Scenario you select to play, Spaced Out: Evacuation Protocol gameplay follows a familiar pattern.
1 - Whats Going On?
Choose a Scenario to play, or have the youngest player pick a Scenario Card and see what horrors await.
2 - Draw an Event Card
Each round begins with an Event Card, which represents the random chance of something going terribly wrong, or sometimes terribly right, for your hapless crew.
3 - Crew Take Actions in Rank Order
Players take their turns in descending order. The number of actions players may make is determined by their Health and Oxygen, making resource management an important part of the game - so keep your crew breathing and out of the line of fire, and things are going to be just just fine!
4 - Roll to resolve Skill Tests
Skill tests require specific symbol results on dice, determined by procedures in the Ship Manual and modified by crew skills.
5 - Decide When To RUN
If the situation becomes impossible, the crew may attempt to engage the Evacuation Protocol and escape aboard the shuttle - but that might be a challenge in itself!
